The Thomas Jefferson Center for Freedom of Thought

Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson founded two distinquished public colleges (United States Military Academy and University of Virginia), wrote the state of religious freedom in Virginia and the Declaration of Independence. While there are significant concerns over the slaves he owned, he clearly stood for liberty and freedom of thought and education. Even on the slavery issue, he made several proposals to end slavery that unfortunately did not get enacted.

Freedom of thought is the foundation for a republic.
