Alexander Hamilton Center of Economic Analysis and Policy

Alexander Hamilton
Alexander Hamilton was the first Secretary of the Treasury and built many of the Republic's first financial capabilities. His ideas still share the republic today.
A vibrant economy was noted as a key pillar of national security. It's also the driver for prosperity. But as history has shown not all economic policies and approaches yield comparable results.Greenman House also posits that economic activity and prosperity is also strongly tied to culture. Just as not all economic policy produces similar results, some cultures are not harmonious with some economic policies and not all cultures seem to produce prosperity.

Economic BalanceEconomic policy must govern and guide regulatory policies and the balance between security and prosperity. If policy over-regulates the productive capacity it will slow or strangle it. Likewise, if it under-regulates productive capacity, the economy could produce destructive monopolies or unsafe products. Policy must also govern the allocation of economic resources between security and prosperity.
